Submit a text describing your idea for a short film (150 words max) that responds to the theme “The water where I live”. Your film will be under 10 minutes when completed. You can use any of the prompts below to help you, or write your own idea. Feel free to expand or change the prompts in any way. Go to Create and Explore or watch last season’s films for inspiration! Your project can be collaborative or independent and you can work in any genre: documentary, fiction, experimental, animation or a combination!

Tell us about a personal connection you have to the water near you?
If you could be a fish or a seabird what would you be and why? How would you see your home differently if you were that creature?
Where and how do people fish in the water near you? What is the journey of the fish you eat?
Take a walk to the nearest body of water. Imagine you are taking someone there for the first time, what would you share with them?
What kinds of pollution are in the waterways near you? Where did it come from?
What is being done about rising sea levels? Imagine what your home will look like in 20 years? Or in 100 years? or 100 years ago?
Share a lesson, story, legend or myth you have learned from your ancestors about the water that you want to pass on to future generations. (Interview your grandparents!)
